MGI Research announces new coverage of application software vendors

  • A new benchmarking report from MGI Research identifies efficiency leaders and laggards amongst 65 applications software vendors including companies such as Oracle (ORCL), SAP AG (SAP), Microsoft (MSFT) and Salesforce.com (CRM)
  • The aim of the benchmark was to identify application software companies and management teams with most efficient, leanest operating models.
  • The research is based on a proprietary quantitative benchmarking model developed by MGI Research and referred to as the MGI Index (MGI-X).
  • Quality Systems Inc. (QSII, MGI-X:2561), Oracle (ORCL, MGI-X:1976) and Vocus Inc. (VOCS, MGI-X:1878) emerged as the efficiency leaders within the applications software sector
  • Chordiant Software – 327 (CHRD, MGI-X: 327), Imageware Systems, Inc (IW, MGI-X: 288) and Selectica, Inc. (SLTC, MGI-X: 166) came in at the bottom of the MGI efficiency benchmark
  • SaaS pure-play vendors have failed so far to show a clear efficiency advantage over companies with enterprise or hybrid operating models

The data helps management teams, boards and investors benchmark operating performance vis-à-vis their peer group of companies and identify areas for improvement. The results relied on publicly available SEC reports as of July 31st 2007 and originally distributed to MGI subscribers in early October of 2007. MGI Benchmarks are updated quarterly.
