MGI 360 Ratings - Aria Systems in Billing Management May 4 2018

RATING UPDATE: We are downgrading the MGI 360 Rating of Aria Systems to 50 and maintain a NEUTRAL outlook, reflecting a sharp deceleration of the business, lower scores in Product, Management, Strategy, and Finance.
 
OPINION: A one-time leader, company is in the midst of a challenging multi-year product transition from Aria 6 to 7 with plans to support both versions. A recent major contract win, the ability to host instances in AWS, and evidence of Aria 7 customers reaching production are bright spots. Headcount in key functions has been dropping – directly impacting execution and combined with constrained finances, have pushed Aria to adopt a more pragmatic vision. Customers and prospects should focus on current capabilities and be prepared to self-fund new requirements. COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Aria Systems, Inc. provides recurring revenue billing and monetization solutions to B2B and B2C organizations with moderate to sophisticated contracts-based customer relationships. Aria has good capabilities in managing monetization requirements across corporate hierarchies, geographies, currencies and billing modalities ranging from subscription to usage. An active orchestration capability with workflow has helped Aria create differentiation in provisioning, customer engagement and cross-application data synchronization for enterprise accounts. The company sells via a direct sales channel into English-speaking accounts in the US and Asia, and via a partner in Europe. Aria focuses on prospects with sales above $250Mil in industries such as automotive, technology, telecom, media, healthcare and financial services. Aria has approximately 100 employees. Aria Systems raised $150 Million+ in venture capital funding with latest round of $18Mil+ in late 2017.
